As a Functional Application Manager, you ensure that our applications run smoothly and fully support the needs of the organization. You manage, maintain, and optimize systems related to payroll, integrations, and data flows.

You act as the link between IT, operations, and end users, making sure processes run efficiently and systems perform as expected. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a stable, efficient, and future-proof IT environment.

Responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for the daily management and continuous improvement of our applications. You identify improvement opportunities, resolve issues, and ensure that changes are properly implemented and embedded in the organization. You don’t just think of solutions—you make sure they actually work in practice. You will work closely with users and stakeholders across the business.
The staffing industry is fast-paced, so you need to be able to switch quickly, prioritize effectively, and stay organized under pressure.

What will you be doing?

  • Application management & maintenance: manage core applications such as AFAS and Plan4Flex; ensure stability and optimal performance
  • Process optimization: identify bottlenecks and translate them into practical improvements
  • Changes & implementations: implement, test, and guide system changes
  • Incident & change management: handle tickets and monitor progress and quality
  • Documentation & knowledge sharing: maintain work instructions and user documentation
  • Stakeholder management: collaborate with users, process owners, and IT
  • Quality & usability: ensure solutions are practical and user-friendly

What do we expect from you?

Your profile

  • Experience in functional application management or a similar role
  • Affinity with IT systems and business processes
  • Experience with testing, implementations, and user support
  • A hands-on mindset: you don’t just solve problems—you prevent them
  • Strong communication skills
  • Affinity with payroll, integrations, and data flows
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment


Education

A background in, for example:

  • HBO Business IT & Management
  • HBO ICT
  • HBO Business Administration (with IT affinity)

Nice to have

  • Experience in the staffing or HR services industry
  • Familiarity with AFAS, Plan4Flex, and/or Power BI
  • Experience working in a multi-brand/multi-entity environment


Team & working method

You will be part of the IT department and work closely with operations and process owners. The team is evolving, giving you the opportunity to actively contribute to structure, improvements, and standardization.
