Stay Healthy This Summer!
Category: Healthy Lifestyle
Summer is in full swing! Long days, sunshine on your skin, and fun times outdoors with friends or colleagues. This is the perfect moment to take extra care of yourself. Living a healthy life doesn’t just mean being fit — it also means feeling good, both at work and in your free time.
Why is a healthy lifestyle important?
When you eat well, move enough, and sleep properly, you’ll have more energy, feel better, and be less likely to get sick. That means: performing better at work, recovering faster from busy days, and simply… enjoying life more!
10 tips for a healthy lifestyle – even in summer:
- Eat a healthy and varied diet: Get plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins. Try to avoid processed foods and sugary drinks.
- Move regularly: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of intense activity per week. Walking, running, swimming — it all counts!
- Get enough sleep: Most adults need 7–8 hours of sleep per night. Sleep is important for both your body and mind.
- Relax on purpose: Stress can affect your health. Try yoga, meditation, or spend time with friends and family.
- Drink plenty of water: Water is essential for your health. Aim for at least 8 glasses per day. Especially in warm weather, drink more. Always carry a bottle with you to work!
- Limit alcohol: Too much alcohol can lead to health problems. Avoid it, or drink less. Alcohol also dehydrates you — which is extra tough on hot days.
- Don’t smoke: Smoking is harmful and can lead to serious illness. Try to quit — or ask for help to do so.
- Protect your skin: Sunshine feels great, but it can burn your skin. Use sunscreen — also when working outside or in the greenhouse.
- Maintain a healthy weight: Extra weight can cause health problems. Eat well and stay active to feel better and more energetic. Every small step helps!
- Do what makes you happy: A positive mindset helps your health. Do what you love, surround yourself with positive people, smile often, and be proud of yourself!
